Dear Friends
With the
return to school September is very much the beginning of a ‘new year’. It
also includes a number of important feast days for Marists – 12th,
Holy Name of Mary our Patronal Feast; 24th, formerly Our Lady
of Mercy, is the Anniversary of the First Professions in Belley 1836 and
the start of the Marist Fathers. For members of the Marist Way the
SWANWICK CONFERENCE (Friday 17th / Sunday 19th) will
be a most important event. Sr Monica SM, a Marist Sister, will be the
keynote speaker for the conference “The Marist Message for Today”
Cost will be £150.00 per person. Response has been somewhat disappointing
however if you have not booked – I know that decisions are always delayed
for various reasons - NOW IS THE TIME!! Contact me immediately.
maristway.org is definitely worth visiting on the internet. Recently a
very interesting report of the Marist Day in Walsingham had been added.
Also there is a link to that wonderful book “A Certain Way” by Fr Craig
Larkin SM. Some months ago I was assured that it would be impossible to
make this publication available on the net. Well done the team in New
Zealand this will be a most valuable tool for all Marist studies.
Please remember in your prayers all
those who have died over the past few months including Mrs Mc Guiness who
contributed so much to the Marist Way in Doncaster. May they rest in
Peace. Amen
Thank you to Sheila Barrett for her kind comments on our wersite,
Webmaster.

We have
been asked to join in the International Daily Prayer for Families 2010
/2011.
I ask the most Holy
Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to pour out the spirit of Nazareth
into my family’s heart and soul, mind and spirit. I ask for the graces to
live the Gospel as Mary and Joseph lived it. I ask for the gifts of the Holy
Spirit — wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, fortitude, piety and
fear of the Lord.
I ask that joy, peace,
patience, kindness and goodness flow through my neighborhood to others just
as these gifts flowed from Jesus, Mary and Joseph’s Nazareth home to the
world. Bless all those who do not yet know You. Bless my extended family
members living and deceased especially ________ and all who await Your
return in glory.
